Decisions and Choices

Which one?

73, 0000 people waiting for organ transplant, two thirds are waiting for a kidney. A prisoner is sitting on death row, without an organ donation form signed. A bill sits in congress ready to sign for legalizing organ cloning. Moldova, China, Egypt, Pakistan, India, Israel / Palestine Mozambique, Kosovo have organs for sale across the ocean. The medical community's having ethical debates on about organ from harvesting and cloning. Decisions, decisions choice's to choose

Which one? Will leads us down to the human ethical decision. Let's review the options, organ cloning, and organ harvesting or letting the waiting person die. Having the person die may be acceptable in the other eight countries. That leaves the controversial ethics choices, organ harvesting, donating, or cloning.

Cloning organs would probable the most effective and cost efficient method for the long term. Not saying there won't be glitches on the way, non functioning organs, growth of the organ failing, and corruption (cloned organ repossessions?). Of course more money must be spent on the research but we already know that. No problems that could not be worked out in the twenty first century.

Cloning organs time, viability and cost are the current major setbacks. Let's question the option of harvesting organs. Harvesting would have a shorter time for a transplant to happen. The short term cost wise harvesting would be the least expensive choice of the choices. Buying and selling organs would cause too much legal headaches and corruption to be a viable solution.

All in all cloning organs would be the most cost effective choice in the long term. The organs can be tailored to fit the receiver's body, we can make them without depriving someone else's a life. Not to mention the employment rise that would happen. But until the issues are resolved we are stuck waiting for donors.

Squibbles rewrite

                    Squibbles First Christmas Eve

    "Brrr! its cold one tonight, Dancer", a big fat guy , shivering, with his white beard bunching up, he leans back in the seat and shouts as he grabs the reins "Off Dancer, off Prancer, Donna, Vixen, off Blisten, Comet, Cupid, off Rudolph"

    "Great take off" lurching back smiling to himself. "Blister glad to see your stride back again, you had a pretty rough landing yesterday."

    "Ah!" reaches up and grabs his cap "Almost lost it that time" Smugly smiling at Rudolph's enthusiasm tonight. Cupping his, hands around his mouth and shouts, "Easy Rudolph, We have 23 hours to go."

    "My Favorite part, watching the stars" wipes his eyes and remarks "Darn, forgot my glasses, the wind is making my eyes water." Laughing with his belly jiggling looks up.

    Looking around at the tree around the balls of paper on the floor Squiggle says to himself "Wow pretty tree." and catches a glimpse of the clock 11:58pm.

    "Folks, its time" a gray haired old lady pointing to the clock.

    Creating a commotion among the partiers, they all head outdoors.

    Click, click sounding like an army on the roof, followed with a sliding sound Ho! ho!,ho! Echoes throughout the air. The group outside cries out in surprised happiness "He is real, Santa's real, I don't believe it."

    "Santa, who's Santa??" Squibbles heads for the barn door. Trying to see, Squibbles peers around the doorway. "Whoa" scoots to the left dodging a ladies high heel "Waa" scoots to the right dodging a man's boot. "Ahh" darts backward missing a cane. Looking up, Squibbles sees a red glow surrounding a fat guy in a red suit with a sleigh and a train of what looks to be horses with antlers on their heads, strangely the red glow comes from the lead horse. "Hmmm" thinking to himself "Why is everyone so excited."

    With a very loud "Ho,Ho,Ho" The fat guy leaps out the sleigh with a red sack. Floats to the ground and enters the barn.

    Squibbles with widest eyes scurries back inside. "What's going on here, a floating fat guy with a sack and a sleigh?" thinking to himself.

    "Ho, ho, ho" echo's inside the barn, the fat guy stops and opens the sack.

    "Oh!,My! He must be a thief!" Squibbles thinks to himself, seeing the fat guy opening his sack. Squibbles hops to the table. "I know I'll hide in his sack so I know where he is going." With one long hop, Squibbles leaps towards the opened sack. Sailing through the glowing tree lights Squibbles lands with a thawp, on his back. Inside the sack, he tries to turn over and tumbles down to the next package "Ahh , what a jump" commenting proudly smiling to himself.

    "Great, Holiday spirits!, they'll definitely enjoy these gifts.", exclaiming the fat guy smiling at the ornaments and decorations, reaches in the sack and places the brightly wrapped gifts under the tree.

    "My lord look at all his loot" Squibbles whispers to himself, looking around and really thinks the big fat is a thief. "Santa! what a name for a thief!" Squibbles hopping to one side missing a red sleeve and hand. Looking astonished "What he doing taking his loot out, I just have to take a look here." Hopping on the next gift Squibbles holds on tight.

    "Ho, ho, ho, I'm almost done here, just one or two more under the tree." A big hand grabs Squiggles gift, with a pause Santa looks down "Oh,My! A stowaway, so little fella have a nice ride from the North Pole." with a rush of cold air, Squibbles is place under the tree. "Merry Christmas little fella and good night" whispers Santa makes his way towards the door.
